Outlook Clean Up button

Mailbox cluttered? A little spring cleaning can't hurt, and Outlook has two features to assist you.

Outlook "Clean Up" Button

First, the Clean Up button does wonders. I always recommend choosing my Inbox folder and then clicking the drop-down arrow on the Clean Up button, and choose: Clean Up Folder:

Mailbox Cleanup Wizard

Second, is a guide showing the steps to find and delete emails 6 months or older from your Inbox in Outlook 2010, using the Mailbox Cleanup wizard.

While the guide uses 180 days in the example, you can adjust the day range to your liking.

We do not support, or approve of, mailbox archiving due to legal issues that are involved. It is actually against our corporate policy. (See the policy in the Employee Handbook)

It is also worth mentioning that your anything that is in your Deleted Items folder, will be removed automatically after 30 days...so you don't have to empty it on your own.
